Progress Reports
Thanksgiving
Happy November! The kids have enjoyed getting into the spirit of fall and Thanksgiving. Turkeys, pumpkins and leaves really give our room a fall feeling. This week will be a very busy and fun one, with loads of activities and our feast. We thought it would be a good idea to send an email going over everything that will be happening this week and a few classroom housekeeping items.
* Our Thanksgiving Feast will be on Thursday during lunch. The signup sheet will be out again tomorrow morning. If all the spots are taken and you would like to help, see if one of the other parents would like to split the cost/work of their assignment. Feel free to bring non-perishables that morning to school. We do have a refrigerator in the kitchen, but it fills up rather quickly on Feast Day; if possible bring perishables by the classroom right before lunch (we eat at noon). This is a teacher and classroom only activity, parents provide the lunch. We take this time to discuss the meaning of Thanksgiving, both traditions and our own thankfulness. Thank you for making this lunch possible.
* We will be collecting canned goods, stuffing, pie filling, turkey gift certificates and such items this week. If you would like to have your child bring in items please do so by Thursday. We will be decorating a box to place the items in and the box will be delivered to the Allen Community Outreach office to help provide a Thanksgiving meal to a Collin county family in need.
* As the weather gets a bit cooler, please make sure your child has a complete set of clothing (including socks) in their backpack. Accidents do happen and we want your child to be comfortable. As you may have noticed, we also do plenty of messy activities and you never know when extra clothes will come in handy.
* The children really seem to be settled in and comfortable in their classroom now. We would like to have the morning drop off procedure reflect their confidence and independence. Please have your goodbye at the door and allow the children to bring in their bag and folder by themselves. They can do it and are proud to take care of themselves. If you have concerns about this new procedure please feel free to discuss with us at anytime.
* Please check your child's backpack for toys from home. A lovey(blanket or stuffed animal)for rest time is wonderful and no problem whatsoever as long as it stays in the bag and only comes out at rest. Toys, other than a lovey for rest, are welcome during specific show-n-tell times or times when we ask the children to bring in a special toy from home.
Thank you,
Ms. Denise and Ms. Mary

Play Date 11/18
Dear Blue Room Moms and Dads,
What a great year this has been already! It has been suggested that we try and get together once a month for a class playdate….a time outside of school that the kids and moms could get together and just hang out. We thought we would try this next Wednesday and see how it goes. Let’s meet after school on Wednesday 11/18 at the Suncreek playground for 30 minutes or so….weather permitting! We can discuss if we want to continue to try these after school or if we want to venture out and get together on our off days at different playgrounds, gyms, or houses. This is going to be a very casual get together, siblings are welcome. So come if you can! If you are unable to attend, let me know your thoughts so I can share them with the group.
Thanks so much,
Tracy Mulady
P.S. I thought I would bring popsicles! (Trying to redeem myself from the Halloween party!!!)
